At the height of their popularity in the 18th and 19th centuries, the chaise longue was customarily used as a "fainting couch" for women wearing tightly-fitting and blood flow-restricting corsets. We hope you will not need to use our Josephine Chaise to escape from an uncomfortable corset but know you will find it to be a comfortable, stylish resting place nevertheless. The chaise starts with a solid wood frame and dense foam cushioning and is finished with brown bonded leather, matching button tufting, and black wood legs. Non-marking feet and a matching throw pillow are included. The legs require assembly.   Very disappointed with the quality of this piece. Couch is made of really cheap material. Leather is more like pleather and I don't think the whole piece weighs 45 lbs. . The arm broke when I sat on it and i am not a heavy person. Would not be so disappointed if it were half the price! The picture is deceiving!
