Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Our classically designed Super Island without the drop leaf. The large single drawer provides added room for hard to store items, while the adjustable shelves can be removed to store larger items. The side knife rack hold 10" blades in a convenient, ready-to-use position. Accented with satin nickel handles and side towel bar, the Super Island is a beautiful addtion to your kitchen floor plan. The oil finish seals and protect the wood. Solidly constructed from North American Hardwood and hardwood veneer panels.

  This is an excellent kitchen island! The quality of the wood is outstanding and the functional drawer, shelves, and drop leaf are very user friendly. It took me about 3 hours to assemble this kit. Everything was included although there was some missing screws and a packet of the wrong screws in my kit. I had some in my own hardware stash so it did not delay assembly. The only negative I have with these Catskill Craftsmen brand cabinets is the quality of the assembly hardware used. For the price of these things, there are better choices of hardware. Catskill uses the Bastion Fastening System on the drawer face, and 1-3/4" machine screws and nuts to hold the sides and back panels together. Very poor quality in my opinion. They should be using cam locking hardware such as KD Minifix Fittings [...]for less than $1 each for easier and more secure assembly. The machine screws and a nuts work, but while you are tightening the screw with a phillips screwdriver, it is very easy to over do it which results in pulling the screw head through the hole drilled for the screw shank! I did it twice without realizing it, with a hand screwdriver! Using the Minifix hardware also means there are no visible holes needed in the finished side of the panels! Even simpler Cross Dowel hardware under 50 cents each would be good, requiring no changes to the existing holes. The larger, flat heads of the cross dowel hardware means there is no way to over tighten the hardware. Because of the cheesy hardware seleection, I can only give these cabinets 3 stars out of 5.
