The cabinet is quite well made, consisting of fairly thick wood veneer over chipboard sturdy enough to take a few assembly and dis-assembly cycles in case to you have to move it. It is built more like office furniture, aka Jasper et. al. than for the homeowner like Gusdorf or Sauder. It is shipped in three cartons with a sacrificial outer box surrounding thin layers of plywood to stiffen the package and another inner carton around the actual components. I nearly had UPS keep the boxes on the truck when they attempted to deliver it, the outer cartons were ripped in several places and the plywood stiffeners were showing through as well. There was also a place where UPS had re-taped an entire end of one of the larger boxes. Much to my surprise, after unpacking I found everything present and in perfect condition. Leslie Dame may want to consider having their contractor use a heavier grade of cardboard for the shipping carton to keep from unnerving folks. It is easiest to disassemble the hinges and mount the backing plates to the cabinet before you install the shelves and I would recommend installing all the shelves then filling your unit with media before putting on the doors. We found that the door assembly takes the bulk of the time required to assemble the unit. If you have a helper available, having them put the doors together is a good way to divvy up the work.
