Irobot Roomba 770 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Review
The Irobot Roomba 770 is very similar to the Roomba 780 in almost every category. In fact, the
only feature not included with the 770 are the lighthouses which allow you to better customize and contain the
areas you want cleaned.
The 770 can still navigate room to room though and comes equipped with 2 virtual walls used to help guide the
robot as moves from one room to another.
The Irobot Roomba 770 has the powerful 3-Stage Cleaning system with a spinning side brush (for cleaning edges
and the sides of baseboards), spinning counter-rotational brushes that loosen and drive dirt into the bin, and
finally a powerful vacuum that sucks dirt, hair and debris out of the carpet and off any hard floor.
It comes equipped with Dual HEPA air filters to remove harmful dust and airborne microbes - providing cleaner
air in your home and a welcome relief for anyone suffering from allergies. Navigation is a piece of cake for the
Roomba 770 with it's IAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology. This is the same advanced software found in the 780
model that allows the robot to automatically detect differences in floor surfaces as it moves through the
house.
Persistent passing ensures that areas with more dirt will be passed over several times before moving to another
room. Wall edges, underneath beds, cleaning around electrical cords or navigating around random objects in the room
are handled effortlessly and automatically with its onboard mapping system.
With the Roomba 770 you can schedule when and where you want your Robot to clean, even 7 days ahead of time
making it perfect for keeping things clean when you are away from the house. With some of the older IRobot models,
battery life was not as good as it should have been.
Today's Roomba series has improved their battery life by more then 50% with the addition of an energy saving
piece of software that is now standard in all Irobot models. Included is a remote control (you can maneuver it and
clean your floors without leaving your couch), its innovative touch-pad control panel, and full bin warning system
among others. The Roomba 770 has a 6 month limited guarantee for the battery and a 12 month limited guaranty for
the Robot.

When you first take it out of the box, you'll probably be surprised at how small the robot
actually is. Setting it up with it's home base charger is fast and easy, especially if you follow the enclosed
quick start guide which will have you up and running in less then 10 minutes.
At first, I recommend running it in a room where you can place the base out of the way (so you don't trip over
it), and where you can check on it during and after it cleans the first room. By doing this you'll get a feel for
how the robot operates around and under furniture and when the dust bin needs to cleaned.
Some of the negatives with the Irobot Roomba 770 are no different then the 780. If your floors are exceptionally
dirty or you have pets you'll have to clean the brushes on a regular basis. This will vary of course depending on
the size of the room, but before scheduling your bot several days in advance you'll want to get a feel for its
navigation and bin storage capabilities.
If you or someone in your family suffers from allergies the dual HEPA air filters can make a huge difference in
the air quality after using it on a regular basis. Most vacuums tend to blow unfiltered air back into the room,
whereas the Roomba 770 filters these impurities.
By using the scheduler and having it clean on a regular basis you might just find less symptoms from allergies
as I did.
Here's what one owner of the Irobot Roomba 770 Robotic
vacuum had to say:
"I'm 41 years old and have had severe allergies all of my life. The Roomba 770 has dual HEPA filters
that really do filter the air as it vacuums. Most of the other robotic vacuums, especially the lower
priced models dont filter. They just push the dirt and dust around more then anything. I love it
because I can run it manually or with scheduler and it keeps my floors clean and my allergies
down!"
